Tips from JW to get your dog ready to spring into action!

The warm weather is here & this means more outdoor activities for you & your dog to enjoy together.

Here are some fun things you can do with your best buddy this spring:

  • A trip to the PARK- play a game or Fetch, Frisbee or Catch, dog friendly parks will give you opportunities for your dog to meet other dogs. Interacting with other dogs is important for social development; the park is an ideal place to work on these skills while spending some quality time together. Take along a favorite toy; the new  Crackle Heads are sure to get the party started!
  • A KIBBLE HUNT- use one of the fantastic new styles of JW treat toys to orchestrate a treat hunt in your backyard! Encourage your dog to use all of his doggie senses to receive a delicious reward. Hide the toy in your back yard OR simply hide kibble/treats in various locations for a fun interactive game.
  • A RIDE in the CAR- let’s face it a dog with his head out a cracked window is a happy dog. Fur blowing in the wind, a doggie grin stretched from ear to ear. Taking your dog on short car trips while your do errands is a nice change of pace that provides mental stimulation as well as a chance to hang out with their favorite person- YOU!

(As an added bonus take Fido for a short walk in between errands, something as simple as a walk down Main Street smelling the sidewalk in your home town offers a variety of stimuli  your dog will enjoy).

  • Go SWIMMING –The backyard pool, a local lake, or a dog friendly beach no matter where you find it most dogs love the water! Whether a gentle splish slash in shallow water or a full-out dive into the pool, water offers a fun way to cool off and get some exercise with your pooch. There are many floatable water toys that you can use for interactive water play, the Megalast line has many fun shapes & styles to choose from. Keep the good times swimming along!
